Frequently Asked Questions
How to prepare your student for fall school portraits.
- If you are purchasing pictures bring your envelope on photo day.
- Dress neatly; Solid colors work better than patterns and graphics, avoid bright whites because they take away from the subject. Please be sure to wear something appropriate.
- Be sure to sit up straight and listen to the photographer's directions.
Here are some commonly asked questions regarding the initial photo day
- Will the original photograph or the retake be in the yearbook?
We will try to use the retake photo, ultimately it is up to the yearbook staff in your school. We utilize the digital process in our school pictures, therefore the retake photo overwrites the first photo.
- Can additional packages be added when my child returns for a retake?
Absolutely, just add the difference in money and be sure it is clearly marked.
- I forgot my package; can I still retake my picture?
Sorry, your portrait package has important barcode data on it and it is needed at the time of your retake.
- My youngest child attends elementary school and needs to have his picture retaken. However my oldest child whose picture is fine and attends a middle school is having their makeup day tomorrow. Can my youngest child have their picture retaken at the middle school?
It is not our normal policy because the elementary child will end up in the middle school records. Administrators have too much to worry about. We provide a retake at your school as well as an "In-studio" retake option.
- Do you do family portraits?
Yes, in our studio by appointment only.
- Can I write one check for all my children attending the same school?
Not recommended. Each child needs to bring his/her payment to the photographer individually on portrait day.
- If you take more than one picture, why can't I choose the one I want?
In order to ensure accurate records we only save a single image for each record. Our experienced staff is trained on what the school or organization is expecting and is consciences of the charicteristics of a good portrait.
- Why can't I wear a hat?
We will be happy to photograph you in your hat for your own PURCHASED pictures. However, we will take another photograph for the school records and yearbooks. All school dress codes apply to photos for yearbooks and school records therefore hats are not permitted. Unless for religious or medical reasons.
- I forgot my picture order form, can I still take a photo?
Yes, all students are photographed for school records regardless if they are ordering or not.
- Can siblings have their picture taken together?
Sorry, We're not set up for group photos at the schools.
- Can a non-student or pre-schooler have their picture taken and purchase a picture package
Yes, only during the time specified on the school picture flyer for that school. Times may vary from school to school. Call us if you don't have a flyer.
- It's my picture, why can't I pose, wear my hat, or use a prop?
Portraits must follow school dress code standards.
- How long will it take to get my pictures back.
Up to four weeks.
